Vacuum Forming
CNC vacuum forming and mould making. Custom vacuum formed plastics for industrial, commercial, and retail applications. From one-off prototypes to full production runs, our Gold Coast workshop delivers precision thermoforming with fast turnaround.
What is Vacuum Forming?
Vacuum forming (thermoforming) is a process where a plastic sheet is heated until pliable, then stretched over a mould using vacuum pressure. It's ideal for creating lightweight, durable plastic parts at a fraction of the cost of injection moulding.
Applications
- Point-of-sale displays and retail packaging
- Equipment enclosures and covers
- Automotive interior and exterior components
- Custom trays, guards, and splash-backs
- Prototyping and short-run production
Materials We Vacuum Form
We work with a wide range of thermoplastic sheets including ABS, HDPE, polycarbonate, acrylic (Perspex), PETG, polypropylene, and PVC. Sheet thicknesses from 0.5mm to 12mm.
Our Process
Design & Tooling
We create custom moulds from timber, MDF, or aluminium depending on your run size.
Heating
Plastic sheet is heated in our oven until it reaches forming temperature.
Forming
The heated sheet is draped over the mould and vacuum drawn to form the final shape.
